The story behind my blog’s title, The Bends in the Road, can be boiled down to the above quote from Anne of Green Gables. Rather than simply expressing a love of literature in general or that book in particular, however, it captures my outlook on a life that is by no means predictable. Sometimes, the next bend may seem far, far away; at other times, the path curves sharply before I’m ready for the change. Most often, however, I find myself looking into the unknown, into the mist. How long will the path continue in a straight, unbroken line? Maybe the road will curve shortly after I enter the mist … or maybe it won’t. But it has a fascination of its own, that mist…
